Sreesanth dancing after hitting Nel for a six

India secure historic win

India stormed to one of their most memorable wins of all time amid historic scenes at the Wanderers, wrapping up a comprehensive 123-run victory on the fourth day of the first Test. Anil Kumble led an efficient mop-up operation, just as he'd done six months ago in another momentous game at Kingston, and put to rest a 14-year bogey of never winning a Test in South Africa.

Ashwell Prince resisted with a battling 97, and briefly threatened to pull off a miracle with the energetic Shaun Pollock, but eventually South Africa saving this game, let alone winning it, was a bridge too far. Pollock tried to hoick across the line once too often to the unrelenting Kumble - just like Dwayne Bravo had on the tense final dayat Kingston , heralding the end - and saw any remaining hope dashed, with the ball dislodging the off bail.

A couple of zipping deliveries from Kumble accounted for two more wickets - Andre Nel was late on a fizzing flipper while Prince had no answer to a yorker-length ball that rattled the base of leg stump. Zaheer returned, along with the new ball, to finish it off with Makhaya Ntini ballooning a simple catch to Virender Sehwag running from point to cover. It was a moment that signaled the breaking of a barrier and for the second time in as many Tests India's cricketers had etched their names in the history books.

Here is one of the cool exciting moment of the first ever test match win against South Africa in South Africa

'Rakhi' the No.1 Audio of the week

Director-composer duo Krishna Vamsi and Devisri Prasad has delivered a top hit with 'Rakhi'.

The top five Telugu albums are:

1. 'Rakhi' - From last week the Rakhi - Highly inflammable has bounced back to No.1 position from last week 4th position . Composer Devi Sri Prasad comes back with good music , He has given nice tunes to this album, ' Raakhee Raakhee' and ' Zara Zara' are nice songs, and the audio is full of mass songs.

2. 'Maharathi' - Maharathi has lost the first position to second due to delay in the release of the movie after the audio release.Kannada composer Guru Kiran has arrived with a bang in Telugu cinema with this album. 'Uppu chapa pappu charu' and 'Mangamma Mangamma' have enthralled Balakrishna's huge fan following.

3. 'Khatarnack' - Khatarnack has lost the 2nd position when compared to last week to 3rd position,after the movie release the movie has not reached upto the expectation that's the reason of its downfall ,but Keeravani have given lively album. After 'Vikramarkudu', he seems to have given another musical hit for actor Ravi Teja. 'Bujji paapa' and 'Dhomu kodithe' are reaching their targeted mass listeners.

4. 'Sainikudu': Sainikudu has lost the 3rd position when compared to last week to 4th position. Composer Harris Jayaraj's peppy album has gained popularity with the younger generation. Director Gunasekar's insistence on fast-paced numbers, however, has shackled the talented musician's creativity. 'Bylamo Bylamo' and 'Sogasu Chudatharama' are the pick of the lot.

5. 'Aadhi Lakshmi' - The audio's sale must have disappointed music director Chakri. 'Nuvve naa celphone' and 'Rojuko muddu', however, have proved to be catchy numbers.

Rakhee with Mom-Sis sentiment

Rakhee is all set for marquee hit on December 22. Made on Durga Arts, the movie starring NTR, Ileana, Charmme, is coming under the direction of creative director Krishnavamsi. Producer K.L. Narayana said that both NTR and Krishnavamsi have done their best to bring out a productive output. "I don't need to mention their hard work. The story holds great strength. The hero makes a big sacrifice for his sister and this factor forms a major twist in the movie. Apart from this sister sentiment, you also have a strong and memorable mother sentiment, but certainly it's not a routine one. Another special point is that NTR will not appear as hero or star in the movie, but as a person known to all – a boy next door." He further said that the audio has generated very good response in the market and it is very encouraging to one and all in the unit.

Sankranti – a time of testing for Tollywood

The Telugu film industry is sitting on a ticking time bomb - a slew of films slated for release this month and the first half of the next are worth a staggering Rs. 100 crores. Already in the dumps with several big films crashing at the box office suffering from creative bankruptcy, buyers are on the edge while the industry bigwigs keep their stables intact selling the films outright.

Beginning December 14, several films are set to hit the marquee till Sankranthi. Ravi Teja’s “Khatarnaak” has come up with a big disappointment.

NTR Junior's litmus test `Rakhi', Pawan Kalyan's elusive search for a hit in several years `Annavaram', Allu Arjun's `Desamudhuru' in the direction of Hong Kong films-inspired Puri Jagannadh, Prabhas' `Yogi' and last but not the least, Balakrishna's `Maharadhi', whose release has been curiously postponed a couple of times now.

The films were bought for staggering prices, all put together are about Rs. 90 crores to Rs. 100 crores. But, given the formula-driven and cliché-ridden productions, experts point out that half of the films might bomb miserably unless they have something substantial to offer to the discerning viewers. If huge investments are a minus propelled by astronomical prices of big stars and budgets, lack of substance is an albatross that has brought most of the Telugu films released this year, crashing down. Industry watchers say distributors took a beating with Chiranjeevi's `Stalin', Nagarjuna's `Boss' and Mahesh Babu's `Sainikudu', all of which failed to reach the expectations of viewers, despite good openings. On the contrary, it is the small budget films that are making waves bringing happiness to distributors and viewers. Sunil's `Andala Ramudu' is said to have collected four times the investment. Jagapathi Babu's `Samanyudu', which started on a low key, has picked up considerably given its good content, proving yet again that hype, hoopla and fancy stars can only kill a film.

Against this backdrop, a lot hinges on these yet-to-be-released films. Their success is crucial for the industry to make a turnaround after one of its most disastrous years and more importantly for filmmakers to win back the buyers' confidence.

Eat (more) fruit
These ideas might stimulate your fruit consumption!
Why should we have five to nine fresh pieces a day, organically grown if possible?

  • For the largest part fruit consists of water just like the human body does;
  • Fruit is 100% bad-cholesterol free;
  • Fruit stimulates the memory;
  • The idea that fruit is an expensive nutrition;
  • The miraculous healing effects of fruit;
  • Fibers;
  • Fruit makes you feel better;
  • Ethical reasons to eat fruit;
  • Fruit is the most natural food;
  • The human diet;
  • Fruit juices - squeeze those fruits!

For the largest part fruit consists of water just like the human body does
Like 80% of our body is water so does 80% of fruit consist of water!
If you think about it, it's logical for the human body to consume food that contains as much water as the body itself. The nutrition that meets that requirement is fruit. There is no other food than fruit on this planet that contains on average 80% water.
Vegetables also contain a lot of water and are therefore second best.

Fruit is 100% bad-cholesterol free
No doubt about this argument. Too much bad-cholesterol is not good for our bodies and fruit doesn't contain bad-cholesterol. Animal products like meat and dairy contain a lot of bad-cholesterol.

Fruit stimulates the memory
If you didn’t know yet: fruit is the ultimate brain fuel. Fruit has a positive effect on our brains. The way this works still has to be found out and many scientists are looking into it as we speak. What we do know is that if you consume fruit effectively, your brains can recall information faster and more easily. This is very useful information for people who are preparing for an exam.

The idea that fruit is an expensive nutrition
Did you always think that fruit was an expensive product? Take a good look at how much money you spend on other food. It could be worth something to replace some of those expenses with fruit. We think that fruit is the healthiest food on earth and therefore it is well worth spending our money on.

The miraculous healing effects of fruit
Spectacular stories about people that cured from uncurable diseases by a strict diet of raw fruits and/or vegetables are well known but do we want to believe them? We still don't know that much about fruit and its contents.

Fibers
We do know now that a diet with plenty of fibers helps against corpulence, high blood pressure, and other factors that increase the chance for a heart disease. The consumed amount of fibers maybe even a more important factor than the amount of fat that is consumed by people!
The food that contains these healthy (natural) fibers is.... right: fruit! (vegetables as well). The American Heart Association advises to consume 25 to 30 grams of fibers out of fresh fruits and/or vegetables. In practice this means: have five to nine portions of fresh fruits or vegetables a day.

Fruit makes you feel better
Several stories have told us about people that were frequently depressed and how they got out of their depression slowly but surely after consuming substantial amounts of fresh fruit on a regular basis. Eating much fruit can have a mysterious healing effect on human beings. Even better is to drink a lot of freshly squeezed fruit drinks on a regular basis. It will take approximately 30 days until you start to notice the effects. Don't forget to drink these smoothies 20 minutes before the consumption of other meals. This way the fruit will not ferment in the stomach and the nutritious elements can be absorbed by the blood effectively.

Ethical reasons to eat fruit
Fruit doesn't have to be killed and slaughtered before you can eat it. The fruits are just hanging there waiting to be picked by you!
This ethical argument (often used by vegetarians and vegans to not eat meat) claims that fruit is a non-animal food. Many people see animals, especially mammals, as living creatures just like humans. There are religions that say that animals have souls like us. The native Americans first asked the animal's spirit if they could kill it before they did so. Fruit has never been said to have a soul and thus can be eaten without causing any harm. Ethical or religious arguments aside, we think it's a shame that we as human beings don't eat much fruit when there is such an abundant assortment of fruits and vegetables available.

Fruit is the most natural food
When you see a piece of fruit hanging from a tree that tree is telling you something: "Eat my fruits and help me spread my seeds." That’s how nature works. Humans eat vegetables and fruits and consequently help the plants to spread. Humans use animals to work the land to grow the plants and trees that produce these fruits and vegetables. In more and more people's opinion this is the way it was all meant to be.

A human diet
A healthy diet should consist for a great deal of freshly squeezed fruit juices, raw fruits and vegetables. Some tips:

  • A good start is to eat and drink more fresh fruits;
  • it’s as simple as that. Before you know it you will feel much better;
  • Don't forget to eat fruit on an empty stomach, not after other meals and;
  • inform yourself about the substances that our 'modern' food contains.

Boy: "Isn't the principal a dummy!"
Girl: "Say, do you know who I am?"
Boy: "No."
Girl: "I'm the principal's daughter."
Boy: "And do you know who I am?"
Girl: "No,"
Boy: "Thank goodness!"

The Godfather

The Godfather, accompanied by his attorney, walks into a room to meet with his accountant. The Godfather asks the accountant, "Where's the three million bucks you embezzled from me?" The accountant doesn't answer. The Godfather asks again, "Where's the three million bucks you embezzled from me?"

The attorney interrupts, "Sir, the man is a deaf-mute and cannot understand you, but I can interpret for you."

The Godfather says, "Well, ask him where the @#!* money is."

The attorney, using sign language, asks the accountant where the three million dollars is. The accountant signs back, "I don't know what you're talking about." The attorney interprets to the Godfather, "He doesn't know what you're talking about."

The Godfather pulls out a pistol, puts it to the temple of the accountant, cocks the trigger and says, "Ask him again where the @#!* money is!"

The attorney signs to the accountant, "He wants to know where it is!" The accountant signs back, "Okay! Okay! The money's hidden in a suitcase behind the shed in my backyard!"

The Godfather says, "Well, what did he say?"

The attorney interprets to the Godfather, "He says that you don't have the guts to pull the trigger."

Superstar Rajnikant tunrns 57

South Indian Superstar Rajnikant, who commands a higher price than some Bollywood icons and whose latest film Chandhramukhi is running to packed houses even 600 days after its release, celebrated his 57th birthday Tuesday - with his family.

The superstar had issued a terse statement a few days ago saying that he did not want any pomp and splendour on his birthday and did not wish to meet any of his fans.

Such is the reclusive nature of the actor that even producer A.V.M. Saravanan - dubbed the movie mogul of the south - had to be content with sending a bouquet to the star's residence in the upscale Poes Garden locality of south Chennai.

'I live for the moment. I have no plans for tomorrow. I love good things in life and that is the way it will be till I pass away,' Rajnikant had said years ago when he was just stepping into super stardom - a philosophy he still holds.

Rajnikant, whose mother tongue is Marathi, was born in Karnataka as Shivaji Rao. With very humble beginnings in life as a bus conductor, Rajni decided in the mid-1970s he would become famous by trying his luck in Tamil movies.

After a crash course in acting, Rajnikant was introduced to the silver screen by K. Balachander to play an ageing husband of an unfaithful wife.

Such was his charisma that he upstaged the hero of 'Apoorva Ragangal' (Rare Tunes) Kamal Hassan. It didn't matter he didn't speak Tamil properly - he still doesn't. But like the medieval Maratha hero, the celluloid Shivaji too managed to establish an empire in modern day Tamil Nadu.

Fans here copied every style of Rajni even when he played a villain for almost three years, in 20-odd movies.

The wheel has turned full circle and he is said to be playing himself in a movie aptly titled 'Shivaji-The Boss' being directed by Shankar for Saravanan.

Not many beyond Tamil Nadu know that Rajni's smash hit a few years ago - 'Muthu' - was dubbed into Japanese and became a super hit in the land of the rising sun as well.

Rajnikant commands a price that is higher than Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan's and his last release in April 2005 - 'Chandramukhi' - is running to packed houses here despite having completed 600 days in cinemas.

Little wonder, then, his fans lap it up when he romances women less than half his age - though Rajni is now a grandfather.

Buzz about Rajnikant new movie Sivaji is the movie all ready finished business of Rs 120 Crore

Posture Perfect

Good posture is not simply a matter of keeping your shoulders straight; it’s about using your body correctly to perform all tasks. By learning and realising the value of maintaining a correct posture you can ensure yourself a strain-free, life with no aches and pains. Do you know why posture is so important?

Importance of a correct posture

A correct posture maintains the right equilibrium for our bodies preventing us from any from of stress or strain due to unequal distribution of body weight. A healthy neck supports your head, thereby keeping it aligned with the rest of the body this results in proper balanced posture. The importance of a balanced back lies in the fact that when you back is aligned no extra muscles are required for task performance. Correct posture is important at all times especially during movement. And, with the right kind of alignment, your internal organs have room to function normally and blood circulates freely for best total fitness.

The ideal posture

An ideal posture is that in which the body is stable and the centre of gravity runs right down the middle. Such kind of an alignment minimises stress and strain, at rest and during movement.

Sit right and stand straight

Are you one of those people who experience pain in the neck or back because of prolonged sitting and/or standing. Yes, I know it’s a part of your job (most of the time) but here’s a way to do it right,

  • Keep your feet flat against the floor
  • Try not to sit crossed legged, (even if it’s not lady like)
  • Keep minimum distance between you and your computer
  • Always make sure that your shoulders and ears are in line with each other
  • Relax, stretch and take as many breaks as possible
  • Most importantly, don’t ever slouch

While standing try to maintain the following,

  • Stand straight; keep your shoulders back and your stomach pulled in, (this also helps to hold in reduce that nasty paunch)
  • Always maintain the natural curves of your spine
  • Avoid locking of the knees
  • Spread your legs such that the gap between your feet is equal to your shoulder width
  • If you have to stand for a prolonged period of time rest one foot higher than the other and alternate every half hour

Get the right kind of rest

  • Try using a relatively firm mattress such that your back gets enough support. No point resting if you’re gonna strain your back
  • If you’re one of those who sleep on their back then get a pillow and place it under your knees for the right support
  • Of course, if you lie on your side then bend your knees and stick a pillow between your legs, it may sound vulgar but who’s watching you while you sleep
  • If you’re a ‘lie flat on your stomach’ kind of person then place a pillow under your stomach. Don’t worry you’ll probably get use to it

Never spare a bender

  • If you have to bend down and pick something up, don’t just bend over and do it, that way you’ll only be straining your back. Wanna know the right way,
  • Stand close to the object and bend only at knees and hips
  • Make sure your back is straight at all times
  • Let your legs do all the lifting

Stand up, stand right

It is necessary to stand correctly if your work requirements are as such. To avoid those nagging back aches after work, here are a few tips to take away the pain,

  • I’m sure you don’t need to be told this but anyway, avoid standing for prolonged sessions.
  • If for some reason you really don’t have a choice then raise one foot above the other and rest it on a stool. Make sure you alternate your feet every half hour.
  • Try to stand on a firm cushioned mat.
  • I know they look good but, try to avoid high-heeled shoes if you know you’re gonna be standing for a while.
  • When standing whether for short periods or long periods of time, always keep your weight balanced equally on both legs.

Tricks of the trade, while you’re working

The chair:

The seat height of your chair should be such that your knees bend at 90 degrees, and the depth should be such that you can fit in completely knee up.

Always make sure that you have enough space to sit. Nothing is more uncomfortable than a tight fit.

Maintain an armrest such that it is a little higher than your elbow if it were bent at 90 degrees

The computer

Keep your computer directly in front of you and look down on it. A laid back attitude never did you any good at work.

Keep your elbows at a 90-degree angle. But hey! Don’t forget to relax.

Rest your wrists whenever you can. It’s all in the wrist they say!

The Desk:

Your desk should be a place that makes you comfortable, so keep its height such that it’s a few inches above your bent elbow.

Keep all accessories (phone, memo pad, schedule book, etc) within easy reach.

Sit at your desk such that you don’t have to bend at your waist. Because bending at the waist not only gives you a backache, but also gives you a paunch.

Remember this is where you work, where you spend your entire day. So feel good about sitting there.

A penguin was driving through the desert when his car broke down. He waddled to the nearest phone to call the AA. His car was quickly towed to the nearest garage where the mechanic told him he would need a couple of hours to check out the car. The penguin, being a good natured bird, didn't complain but wandered off to find the closest supermarket. He proceeded to the frozen foods section and hung out near the fish sticks. After an hour he got in the freezer next to the vanilla ice cream and ate several gallons. Then he saw the time and went back to the garage covered in ice cream. The mechanic walked over to him wiping his hands and shaking his head saying "It looks like you blew a seal." Blushing, the penguin said "Oh, no! It's just ice cream."
